STUDENT TUTORING SPECIALIST

Provides assistance in the learning process. May be required to:

• Teach specific academic subjects to individuals or small groups
• Monitor the academic progress of students
• Communicate student progress with the tutoring program supervisor
• Participate in a training program for developing teaching techniques and learning skills
• Participate in additional training sessions and staff meetings
• Organize and conduct tutor training programs for other student workers
• Serve as a resource for other tutors in same academic subject
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar position
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• May require faculty recommendation
• Demonstrated success in the course to be tutored
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Excellent client service and communication skills (verbal and written)
