STUDENT PEER COUNSELING SPECIALIST
Provides advice and/or guidance for University community members. May be required to:
- Provide information & resources in one or more of the following areas:

- Personal Development (e.g., decision-making, assertiveness training, stress management)
- Health (e.g., contraception, pregnancy, nutrition)
- Education (e.g., test preparation, time management, test anxiety, reading efficiency)
- Career (e.g., resume writing, interview techniques, aptitude and interest identification)
- Financial (e.g., identification of income sources/employment opportunities, budget management)
- Interpret assessment results
- Act as liaison between clients and university, state, and federal departments and agencies
- Assist in the training of other student workers
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar position
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate a computer and phone
- Computer literacy
- Customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
