STUDENT HUMAN BEHAVIORAL RESEARCH SPECIALIST

Assists faculty in human research efforts. Student may be required to:

  • Prepare testing materials and protocols
  • Determine sample size and type
  • Screen, select, and schedule subjects
  • Design and run experiments
  • Test equipment and resolve basic problems within guidelines
  • Operate experimental equipment (e.g., galvanometer, video recorder)
  • Administer an evaluative instrument
  • Collect, code/plot, and record data
  • Organize, analyze, and communicate data
  • Interpret statistical output
  • Write reports on experimental procedures and findings
  • Assist in the preparation of copy for publication
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
  • Assist in the training of other student employees
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a similar position
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate a computer and other research equipment
  • May require knowledge of specific applications related to data acquisition and statistical analysis
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
