STUDENT GROUNDSKEEPING SPECIALIST

Provides semi-skilled maintenance assistance. May be required to:

• Mow lawns and trim around foundations and hard-to-reach areas
• Shovel snow
• Rake leaves
• Paint lines on athletic fields
• Perform preventative maintenance on motor equipment (e.g., small tractors, mowers) including refueling, changing oil, etc.
• Perform safety checks and contact crew members in emergency situations
• Perform minor equipment repairs
• Fill out paperwork
• Assist in the training of other student employees
• Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar position
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of tool use, equipment maintenance/repair, and emergency procedures
• May need to perform physical duties such as lifting
