STUDENT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT

Drives state vehicle (e.g., van, car) and provides assistance in transportation-related areas. May be required to:

  • Operate an automatic or standard shift vehicle to transport University personnel, visitors, and/or students to and from various sites (e.g., community service agencies, airports, conferences, athletic events, etc.)
  • Inform passengers of schedule or itinerary
  • Handle money and fee bills when applicable
  • Perform recordkeeping tasks and tabulate reports
  • Perform basic administrative tasks such as filing, copying, filling out forms, etc.
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as directed

Requirements:

  • Valid CT driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, and two-way radio
  • Ability to work with a diverse array of customers, including those with disabilities
  • May need to perform physical duties such as lifting baggage
