STUDENT IT SYSTEMS/NETWORK SPECIALIST
Assists faculty and staff with computer-related duties. May be required to:
- Install, test, and maintain hardware and software
- Test hardware and software on various PC platforms
- Record, track, and report computer and system problems
- Diagnose computer hardware and software problems
- Perform repairs within established guidelines
- Develop scripts to automate tasks
- Develop training and documentation to assist staff and faculty in technology use
- Secure work environment, systems, and equipment
- Perform data entry, record keeping and other administrative tasks
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
- Assist in training of other student employees
- Complete miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in information technology
- Knowledge of various applications (e.g., imaging, security systems)
- Knowledge of program languages (e.g., SQL, shell scripting) and their application
- Familiarity with email clients and mail protocols (e.g., Outlook, Exchange)
- Skill in working within mainframe, Web, and Windows environments
- Ability to operate a computer and advanced computer literacy
- Customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in project-driven, team environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- May need to lift approximately 25 lbs.
