STUDENT COMPUTER PROGRAMMING SPECIALIST
Assists faculty and staff with computer-related duties. May be required to:
- Design, write, test and/or implement program modules to extract data and solve problems
- Develop computer graphics
- Install, test, and maintain hardware and software
- Program and run statistical analyses of data sets
- Develop training and documentation to assist staff and faculty in technology use
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software problems within department guidelines
- Record, track, and report computer problems
- Secure work environment, systems, and equipment
- Distribute reports and other output to various areas
- Perform data entry, record keeping and other administrative tasks
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
- Assist in training of other student employees
- Complete miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in information technology
- Knowledge of program languages (e.g., SQL, shell scripting) and their application
- Skill in working within mainframe, Web, and Windows environments
- Macintosh and Unix/Linux systems knowledge a plus
- Ability to operate a computer and advanced computer literacy
- Customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in project-driven, team environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- May need to lift approximately 25 lbs.
