STUDENT EQUIPMENT DESIGN & TESTING SPECIALIST
Assists faculty in research efforts related to technology/equipment design and function. Student may be required to:
- Assemble equipment and/or utilize related technology
- Work with blueprints/schematics
- Test equipment and resolve basic problems within guidelines
- Test and/or implement computer program modules
- Take measurements
- Code/plot and analyze data
- Use data to improve equipment design
- Design and draft equipment
- Interpret statistical output
- Prepare reports on experimental procedures and findings
- Assist in the preparation of copy for publication
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
- Assist in the training of other student employees
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar position
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate a computer and laboratory equipment
- May require knowledge of specific applications related to data acquisition and statistical analysis
- May require computer programming ability
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
