STUDENT FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

Provides semi-skilled maintenance assistance. May be required to:

• Perform semi-skilled tasks to assist staff in carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, locksmithing, heating/ventilation, drafting, and electrical work
• Specialize in maintenance tasks in one or more of the above areas
• Complete preventative custodial maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing loose tiles, spot patching, fixing minor leaks)
• Perform simple custodial/ housekeeping tasks (e.g., dusting, vacuuming, emptying trash)
• Fill out paperwork
• Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
• Assist in training of other student employees
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar position
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of tool use and simple maintenance procedures
• May need to perform physical duties such as heavy lifting
