STUDENT ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST
Assists faculty and staff with complex accounting duties. May be required to:
- Prepare balance sheets and various financial statements for specific accounting periods
- Apply accounting principles to analyze accounts and operations
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers and prepare reports for management
- Analyze accounts and operations
- Maintain accounting records
- Monitor accounts and identify expenditure or obligation problems and recommend action based on findings
- Provide special reports and analyses as requested
- Review procedures relating to accounts for compliance with regulations
- Assist in the training of other student employees
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Familiarity with accounting practices and procedures and prior experience in an accounting-related position
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Computer literacy and ability to operate office equipment
- Attention to detail
- Customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
