STUDENT DINING SERVICE SPECIALIST
Assists staff in an on-campus eating facility. May be required to:
- Prepare and serve food and/or beverages
- Record and place customers’ orders
- Write guest checks
- Perform cashiering duties, including receiving and recording cash receipts
- Assist with simple purchasing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and/or payroll tasks (e.g., organizing student timesheets, tracking receipts, etc.)
- Secure supplies and stock service station
- Order supplies and control inventory
- Take inventory
- Check student ID’s
- Monitor customers entering and leaving the establishment
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans by hand or with dishwashing equipment
- Set up and clean up service stations
- Wash floors and operate floor scrubber & buffer
- Maintain equipment
- Assist in training other student employees
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar position
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Ability to operate a computer, cash register, calculator, or other adding machine
- Computer literacy
- Adherence to uniform or dress code
- If serving alcoholic beverages: T.I.P.P.S. certification
- Ability to work in fast-paced team environment
- Customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
- May need to perform physical duties such as heavy lifting or standing for long periods of time
