STUDENT CATERING ASSISTANT
Assists catering staff in various on-campus locations. May be required to:
- Set up and clear tables for formal dining functions
- Prepare and serve hors d’oeuvres, meals, beverages
- Set up and clean up service stations
- Clean banquet facility and/or kitchen (e.g., mopping floors)
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans by hand or with dishwashing equipment
- Respond appropriately to customer questions and concerns
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings
- Perform miscellaneous duties as directed
Requirements:
- Knowledge of service etiquette, layout for formal place settings, wine service, and safe food handling procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in fast-paced team environment
- Adherence to uniform or dress code
- If serving alcoholic beverages: T.I.P.P.S. certification
- Customer service and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical duties such as heavy lifting (carrying service trays with 8-10 dinners per tray) or standing for long periods of time
