STUDENT HEALTH LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Assists professional health care staff. Student may be required to:

• Perform moderately-complex level tests under the supervision of a senior staff member
• Perform simple laboratory tests (i.e., dipstick urine, occult blood, rapid strep screen) per established procedures
• Collect lab specimens
• Adhere to Infection Control Guidelines
• Complete paperwork, filing, data entry and other clerical duties
• Prepare specimens for dispatch
• Stock laboratory supplies
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed

Requirements:

• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Attention to detail
• Allied Health majors preferred
