STUDENT ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Assists faculty and staff with complex accounting duties. May be required to:

  • Prepare balance sheets and various financial statements for specific accounting periods
  • Apply accounting principles to analyze accounts and operations
  • Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers and prepare reports for management
  • Analyze accounts and operations
  • Maintain accounting records
  • Monitor accounts and identify expenditure or obligation problems and recommend action based on findings
  • Provide special reports and analyses as requested
  • Review procedures relating to accounts for compliance with regulations
  • Assist in the training of other student employees
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with accounting practices and procedures and prior experience in an accounting-related position
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate office equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
