STUDENT AUDIO/VISUAL TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST
Assists faculty and staff with audio-visual equipment. May be required to:
- Set up, operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and report issues regarding media equipment including microphones, VCR’s, DVD’s, monitors, flat screens, and LCD/DLP projectors
- Assist faculty in selecting audio/visual equipment resources
- Resolve technical problems and/or assist staff in installation, maintenance, and repair of High-Tech Classrooms and AV equipment
- Monitor equipment and/or connections to remote sites while classes are in progress
- Design, write, and produce instructional materials and user documentation utilizing graphics, photography, lettering, layout, and design techniques
- Answer phones for help desk support and generate work order requests
- Take inventory and generate reports to maintain inventory
- Deliver media equipment to various campus locations
- Catalogue and file media materials
- Update records using a computer and related software
- Assist in training of other student employees
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience with AV system and equipment operation in a similar position
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Sound judgment to prioritize issues
- Ability to operate a computer and phone
- Computer and AV technology literacy
- Customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Skill in online learning applications preferred (e.g., WebCT Vista)
