STUDENT OFFICIATING TRAINEE

Assists faculty and staff with recreation & athletics activities and programs. May be required to:

• Assist in officiating recreational sporting events in accordance with official departmental rules and interpretations
• Set-up and clean recreational area
• Govern control of game
• Keep score and time
• Check IDs and obtain signatures from patrons, as required
• Clean, prepare and disburse equipment
• Consult with supervisor on player misconduct
• Evaluate team participation
• Assist in the compilation and filing of incident reports, evaluation forms, and statistical reports as required
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed

Requirements:

• May need to pass test confirming knowledge of official departmental rules governing the game
• May require CPR certification
• Customer service and communication skills
