How did you find your position? What was the process like from application to the offer stage? Please detail your experience.
JobX. I simply applied for the job position, entered my resume and replied to a prompt within the application. I would soon get emails asking about my availability to meet and soon enough I got an interview. After the interview, I was asked about what days I could work and was hired nearly a week or two later through email.
What made you apply for your position?
I wanted to make money while at school.
How have you been able to balance your schoolwork and work responsibilities? Please provide details of any challenges or hurdles you have encountered.
In the position that I applied for, being the Information Desk Receptionist position, I was able to do my schoolwork during my downtime. There haven’t been many hurdles to overcome between work and having to do my schoolwork.
What are your personal keys to success and what aspects of your job do you find the most fulfilling or enjoyable?
I enjoy being around the people I love. I love everyone I interact with. There is never a dull moment at UConn Waterbury because of that.
Describe your typical day at work?
I typically am on my computer doing what I need to work on. If I have downtime, I’ll work on my schoolwork. When working at the front desk, I can interact with my friends who are in the lobby from time to time.
What skills have you acquired or developed in your on-campus job that can contribute to your career readiness or professional development?
I have learned better communication skills.
