STUDENT WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT

Provides assistance to staff and faculty in the preparation of informational or promotional print media and/or public relations. May be required to:

  • Assist staff in writing articles, press releases, newsletters, media guides, programs, and other informational or promotional materials for both hardcopy print and web-based formats
  • Conduct interviews by phone or in person
  • Conduct research utilizing databases, archives, internet, and other information sources
  • Attend and cover University events
  • Perform basic administrative duties such as filing, data entry, word processing, etc.
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as directed

Requirements:

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Working knowledge of related software applications (e.g., Word, Publisher)
  • May need to work some evenings and weekends
