STUDENT WEB DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Assists faculty and staff with web development issues. May be required to:

  • Design and maintain websites with respect to form, content, and ease of use
  • Design, write, test, and/or implement web applications
  • Develop computer graphics
  • Maintain hardware and software
  • Assist in statistical analyses of data sets obtained via web-based applications
  • Develop training and documentation to assist staff and faculty in web development tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic user issues regarding website applications within department guidelines
  • Secure work environment, systems, and equipment
  • Perform data entry, record keeping and other administrative tasks
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
  • Assist in training of other student employees
  • Complete miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in information technology
  • Knowledge of web design and development packages (e.g., Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of web languages and platforms (e.g., HTML, CSS, PHP, Java) and their use
  • Skill in working within mainframe, Web, and Windows environments
  • Macintosh and Unix/Linux systems knowledge a plus
  • Ability to operate a computer and advanced computer literacy skills
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work in project-driven, team environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • May need to lift approximately 25 lbs.
