STUDENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT

Assists faculty and staff with computer-related duties. May be required to:

  • Test and/or implement program modules
  • Develop computer graphics
  • Install and maintain hardware and software
  • Perform simple statistical analyses
  • Assist staff and faculty in technology use
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software problems within department guidelines
  • Record, track, and report computer problems
  • Secure work environment and equipment
  • Distribute reports and other output to various areas
  • Perform data entry, record keeping and other administrative tasks
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings
  • Complete miscellaneous duties as directed

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Basic knowledge of mainframe, Web, and Windows environments
  • Basic knowledge of office, graphics, and web development applications as well as email clients and protocols
  • Macintosh and Unix/Linux systems knowledge a plus
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • May need to lift approximately 25 lbs.
